Satirical Americana

Saturday, 7 June 2025

A playful corner for sharing poems, songs, and stories that skewer U.S. culture, politics, and myths with sharp wit and a generous dose of heart. From ironic folk verses to darkly comic tales of everyday people tangling with power—this is where satire meets Americana. 😂❤️

    White House Rose

Created by: on Jun 6, 2025, 3:51 AM

I tie my things down To the roof of my car I see it flying Into someone's yard

When I go to retrieve it I'm on the White House lawn Secret Service attacks me I get bit by their dog

~CHORUS~ Bite marks and blackened eyes, I don't want that kind of surprise. Bruises on my head and a bloody nose. I'll make sure to steal a White House rose. ~END CHORUS~

My farm is gone My livelihood in vain My children beg With a face of pain

But now who am I To those who care Just a shadow With a thin head of hair

    ~REPEAT CHORUS~

A stylized, textured illustration showing a single, weathered red rose caught on a black iron fence in front of the White House. Several rose petals drift down onto the golden ground, while a solid black silhouette of a barking guard dog lunges beneath the fence. In the background, the neoclassical White House façade is rendered in muted beige tones under a pale blue sky, and a small American flag waves atop its roof.
